Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and at Tithe Barn Primary School, we are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of all children. According to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) 2025, safeguarding means ensuring that children are protected from harm, supported to meet their needs early, and helped to “grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care” so they can achieve the best outcomes.
Our school has robust safeguarding policies and procedures in place. All staff receive regular training so they can recognise signs of concern and respond appropriately. We work closely with families and external partners to support children’s safety, wellbeing and development.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is a senior member of staff who takes the lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection. The DSL:
- Acts as the first point of contact for any safeguarding concerns raised by staff, parents, or pupils.
- Ensures concerns are recorded, referrals are made promptly to other agencies when necessary, and support is coordinated.
- Makes sure all staff understand their safeguarding duties and have the right training.
- Works with other professionals to keep children safe and supported.
Your child’s safety is our highest priority. If you ever have a concern, please contact the DSL — we are here to listen and act in the best interests of every child.
